Baseball Scorekeeper by Stuart Miller is a how-to and notation book for both seasoned and novice baseball scorekeepers, who like to mark every point of a game. It includes instructions, 40 score sheets, a fold-out “cheat sheet” of common scoring notations, and a pocket for ticket stubs and memorabilia. The concept for the design focused on the preservation of baseball moments, and I used old twentieth-century American newspapers, scrapbooks, and baseball as inspiration. I designed both the cover and interior and created custom visual elements that include hand-drawn notations and custom titling. Throughout the project, I worked closely with Chronicle Book’s design and editing teams.
